Full description

DMTx Psychonaut Qualifications include:

  • Psychological and spiritual maturity
  • Established spiritual/mindfulness practice
  • Established healthy relationship with psychedelic medicines (it's ok if you haven't taken DMT or ayahuasca, but it is a plus)
  • Completion of a safety review process and basic physical health
  • An open mind and a spirit of exploration
  • Stability in your personal life, including family and finances
  • A support system in addition to our support (supportive family or friends that know what you are doing and support your decision)

Contraindications

  • Significant mental health concerns — this is not a primary treatment for major mental health disorders
  • Significant physical health concerns — we take this case-by-case
  • Certain medications — please include all medicines in your intake

Honest disclosure on the safety questionnaire is essential. Most concerns can be safely managed if we know about them.

Full description

Contraindications (reasons not to do this) include:

  • Any significant mental health concerns — this is not a treatment for major mental health disorders on its own, but journeyers report benefits when supported therapeutically.
  • Any significant physical health concerns — ask us about this and we'll take it on a case-by-case basis. We just want to ensure your safety. The medicine is proven safe but we want to be very intentional here.
  • Certain medications — please include all medicines in your intake.

Each selected psychonaut will go through a training regiment to prepare for their DMTx experience and to get the most out of it. This training includes preparation sessions and access to the DMTx Psychonaut Training Webinar Series.

On heart health and blood pressure: Health-wise, we are primarily looking at blood pressure and heart health, so this needs to be in control — naturally or with medication, not too high or too low. Blood pressure is monitored before and after the experience and it does increase as dose increases. A high BP may require us to shorten the journey or lessen the intensity of the experience. Some heart medications are contraindicated with the use of N,N-DMT, so please provide all medication information in your intake where requested.

On general wellness: DMTx is a very safe experience, but basic wellness and moderate exercise are important to get the most out of the experience. The experience itself is physically and energetically demanding, so building your physical stamina will help. If we have any concerns about your physical health, we'll consult our medical team and may ask you to consult your care providers as well.

Most mental health and physical safety concerns can be effectively managed IF we know about them. It is imperative that you are honest with us on your safety questionnaire and client intake.

Options for additional preparation support

This isn't required, and may not be possible for all psychonauts, but we recommend that DMTx psychonauts start an additional guiding process with either Daniel McQueen or other members of his team — additional individual coaching and preparation sessions, medicine sessions, or a series of sessions with psilocybin mushrooms, psychedelic cannabis, smoked or vaped natural DMT, or ketamine. All of these medicines are legal under different regulations in Colorado. Let us know if you are interested in these services. Online coaching calls are also available.

The seven Initial Informed Consent questions (verbatim)

1. Will you review the DMTx Psychonaut Training Webinar Series and practice the mindfulness skill sets discussed before attending? This is a complimentary gift that comes with your participation in the DMTx program. Yes / No

2. Are you interested in participating in additional research projects before, during, and after your DMTx session? This may include non-invasive EEG brain scanning, EKG heart monitoring, AI integration, and research questionnaires before and after your session. You would sign a research informed consent form, and all data collected would remain anonymous. Participating in the research is not required to participate in a DMTx journey. Yes / No

3. Do you commit to pausing all psychedelic medicine use and other substances for a month before and after the DMTx retreat? This prohibition does not include cannabis, and we strongly recommend only moderate alcohol consumption, if any. This means you will not be smoking DMT or taking Ayahuasca during the month before because you think it'll help prepare you for the experience. We want you to be as grounded as possible for your session. It is our experience that the acute integration period will last about a month after the journey as well. Yes / No

4. Do you commit to a month-long period after your experience where you have no significant plans that you have to begin, professionally or personally, and will you commit to not making significant, life-changing decisions, either professionally or personally, during this period. We offer integration support as needed. This integration period is strongly encouraged. Yes / No

5. We film or record the journey and other sessions for internal review processes and for safety purposes. Are you okay with filming the experience for internal review? This is required for safety reasons and we maintain ownership of it. We cannot provide you with a copy for personal use; however, we will provide you with a transcript of what you share during your experience. Yes / No

6. Do you have health insurance? Health insurance, or travelers health insurance for international guests, is required. Yes / No

7. Do you have a therapist, mentor, other ally, or skilled friend that knows you are doing this and would be willing to be your personal support ally? Yes / No

Scholarship application options

Partial Scholarships are available to reduce the cost of individual sessions, and we have created a small group retreat to increase accessibility further. Long-term members of our church community may apply for a free DMTx session.

Do you need a partial scholarship or accessibility group rate? Our scholarship application is part of the onboarding process.

  • I need a partial scholarship to participate

We also request a driver's license and health insurance card.

Full description of all stages

Next Steps — Participation Agreements, Informed Consent, In-Depth Screening — $695. We have fully integrated the DMTx Project into our other psychedelic services. The onboarding and price are the same as our other advanced psychedelic experiences.

We will review your initial application, and if selected, you will be sent our Psychedelic Safety Questionnaire (PSQ), New Client Intake form, and a link to schedule your interview and to pay the interview and application fee of $695.

In addition, we will provide a demographics and scholarship application, and will also ask you to fill out a Release of Information form to allow us to speak to a mental health service ally (if you have one), and a personal support ally if we need to do so to support your process. One personal support ally is required for you to participate. This is a friend or family member who knows and supports your decision to participate in a DMTx experience. If you have a therapist, we request that you complete this release for them as well, as an additional safety net, and that you speak to them about your intention to participate in this program. The more support you have, the better.

Interview & Medical Screening. We're here to ensure your safety. Once all of your material is submitted and application fee received, you will be invited to an admissions interview. This is a structured interview to assess your readiness to join our program and to get to know you and your interest in DMTx. This is also an opportunity to ask questions about safety, the program, and what to expect.

We will review the PSQ and Intake prior to the interview. If there are any contraindications before the interview, we will cancel the interview and refund your application fee. After the initial session, you will be invited to a medical review and screening session with our medical screener to determine if there are any mental health or medical contraindications.

If there are no clinical or medical contraindications, you will be given a free year membership in our church community to provide additional community support and legal protections, and invited to participate in the DMTx program. We'll work together to find a date that works for you.

This is not a profit-centered program. While positive outcome cannot be fully guaranteed (this is a psychedelic medicine, after all), we will only commit to working with you if we sincerely believe you will greatly benefit from this experience.

Paperwork, Onboarding & Scheduling Your Private Retreat. Informed consent is very important in the field of psychedelic therapy. Due to the complex, holistic nature of DMTx, the paperwork involved is quite extensive. Once completed, you will be fully integrated as a client and community member of the Center for Medicinal Mindfulness in preparation for your DMTx Journey experience.

Once approved for DMTx, you will receive a packet that includes: DMTx Informed Consent · Research participation agreement · Participation waiver · Community participation agreement · Church membership agreement · Payment agreement · Invoice for services · Practitioner disclosure statements & coaching agreement. We will also request a copy of your driver's license to verify your age and identity, and your health insurance card or travelers health insurance information.

Scheduling Your Expedition Into the Multiverse. Our team will help you schedule your private retreats when it works for you, just like our other psychedelic services. We will discuss retreat date availability throughout the process as we get you onboarded. We will also regularly host specialty retreats and accessibility groups throughout the year as well.
